After installing and getting Eclipse going with a JAVA MQ Application, I have hit a problem getting the debugger to work.

To install the IDE, I installed Eclipse and then did the following:

Create a new project: File -> New Java Project
Specify a project name and then press "Next".
Click on the Libraries tab.
Click on "Add External JARs".
Navigate to the MQ Java library (c:Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\java\lib)
Select com.ibm.mq.jar and com.ibm.mq.jmqi.jar.

The program is executed when I then do run as java application. However, when I try and do "debug as java application" the debugger prompts that "the JAR file com.ibm.mq.jar has no source attachment".

How do I configure Eclipse so that I can use the debugger?

this is using MQ 7 on Windows.

Of course the MQ Jar file doesn't have source.

You should still be able to debug your app...

Of course not - been spending too much time in the open source world!

And you are quite right, the debugger is still quite usable.
