Hi all,
First post on this board so go easy on me.

I've been looking for information regarding the MA7K support Pack and MQv7.

Since installing MQ 7 the Windows triggering Service starts but shortly after it ends with the following error:

Failed to load dll "mqm.dll", return code 127.

I'm guessing due to the updated DLL's the SupportPac is no longer able to use the DLL's

I, of course, have noticed that on the SupportPac page MA7K is listed as operating for version 5.3 and 6.0

Question is - what is everyone else using since moving to MQv7? is there an alternative? using the trigger monitor as a windows service is a much cleaner solution than running a command prompt at startup so I'd like to avoid that.

again thanks for yout help in advance.

Contact the author to find out whether an update will be issued, and if so when.

I have a release that's almost ready to go, hopefully I will ship it before the end of the year.

I'm not sure that the issue reported here is a result of an incompatibility with the v7 DLLs though. Machete - is this a working MA7K setup before you installed MQ v7? Or is it a new setup for MQ v7?

yup that was going to be my next move, I thought I'd ask around before and see if anyone was in a similar situation as me...

hey jeff, yeah it's a working version, works fine on MQv6.0.2.2, once we upgraded it stopped working, I've reverted back to 6.0.2.2 at the moment and it works fine again.

Part of the troubleshooting was to recreate the service itself after the upgrade but it yielded the same error, now that it's back on 6.0.2.2 it's running fine...

Hi Jeff,
I was able to install and start the "WebSphere MQ client Trigger Service" [ MA7K]. But when i put a message on the trigger queue it is giving the error:
Invalid application type received type=9.

And if i start the runmqtmc from command prompt
runmqtmc.exe -m <QMName> -q <InitQueueName>
it is working fine.

We are using MQ V7.0.1.1.

Do i need to tweek something in MA7K to work with MQ 7?

Appreciate your help.

No, you probably need to contact me by email so I can provide you with a v7 build.

"invalid application type" suggests that the MQTMC2 message has a value for Application Type that MA7K as shipped is not prepared for, so I may need additional data from you... but the first step is to get you a version compiled against MQ v7... and that starts with you sending me an email...

I don't remember if the MA7K documentation has been updated to include my current and correct email address, but I know that MS03 docs have been... and if the MA7K docs aren't, then please send me a private message with your email address and I'll follow up.

Has MA7K been updated for V7 yet? The documentation still says v5.3 and v6. Is there another way to automate the the startup of the client trigger monitor on a Windows server?

Thanks in advance.

No, I've not released a v7 version yet.

I am still debugging a new feature.

I can provide a build, the package also ships with source. You just need to point it at the v7 install and run nmake.

I believe I've found the bug I've been looking for.

I forgot to increment a counter.

I'm going to run things through another round of quality checks and try to release as soon as I reasonably can.

Hi

Is there any news on support pac MA7K working with a V7 client?

I'd like to use this for a new project but will go with runmqtmc if this is not available.

Thanks

J

I am planning to release by end of June, likely over the next week or so.

I apologize for all of the delays, but there have been a number of things over the last few months that have taken up most of the spare time that I have to spend on supportPac development.
