I note from the infocenter that you can make a queue manager autostart by using the command:

crtmqm -sa qmgrname

Quote:
-sa
Automatic queue manager startup.
The queue manager is configured to start automatically when the machine starts up, or more precisely, when the AMQMSRVN process starts up.

Is there a way to display this startup value and change it after the QM has been created?

Also when I try it - it does not like the -sa option.

AMQ7027: Argument -sa supplied to command crtmqm is invalid.
Usage: crtmqm [-z] [-q] [-c Text] [-d DefXmitQ] [-h MaxHandles]
[-md DataPath] [-g ApplicationGroup]
[-t TrigInt] [-u DeadQ] [-x MaxUMsgs] [-lp LogPri] [-ls LogSec]
[-lc | -ll] [-lf LogFileSize] [-ld LogPath] QMgrName

This is WMQ 7.0.1.3 on Linux

I'm sure that option should be marked Windows-only, I've raised a problem against the documentation to get that clarified.

Perhaps because that's a Windows-only value...

Qmgr auto startup on Unix is usually done by the Unix Initialization Daemon (initd) running scripts in the /etc/init.d directory.

See http://hursleyonwmq.wordpress.com/2007/08/02/init-script-for-ibm-websphere-mq-on-linux/ and IBM SupportPac MSL1.

OK, thanks. Would be nice to have an autostart feature on all platforms as part of the standard product. Oh well back to MSL1...
