I Unable to Display MQ queue manager information in windows. It shows that it is disconnected but it is actually connected. It will not let you drill down within MQ exployer to see the channels, queues and listener. |

If the explorer says that it is disconnected, try clicking the connect menu option. What happens? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

The Connect Queue manager option is grayed out. Will only allow you to stop the queue manager |

You have a configuration and/or a security problem. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi shashivarungupta,
It looks like you are not authorized to check the queue manager status, it happens only when mqm admin password has reset.
Log in wit the credential in which mq is running under, if you have missed you can change it using run-->dcomcnfg
But i am not sure why it said queue manager is disconnected when it is connected.

There are three possible cases for this issue.
1. You are not a member of mqm/administrators group in the server.
2. If your id is in the admin and mqm group of the server, check if the command Server is running or not. If it is not running, try to right click on the queue manager and click on 'Start command server' option.
3. Try to run the mqseries object under an admin account in dcomcnfg.
If command server is running, if your ID is in the admin group of the server, and if you are running the mqseries in an ID of admin group, you should be able to expand the queue manager and view MQ objects. |

One possibility is when virtual memory gets full, explorer doesn't allow to drill down and queue manager gets shutdown after some time. Look at FDCs and error logs under mqm (ex: D:\mqm\errors). If you see any space related issues then temporary solution is to kill processes in sequential order from task manager (stopping MQ service from services will fail as virtual memory is full) and then start the service. For long term, send a request to Windows Engineers to increase paging file size (Virtual memory).

Which version of Windows, and which version of WMQ? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
