What are the impacts on a qmgr and a broker after a DB activity- data migration from one box to another.

The drivers , providers are not changing. Only the data is being moved.

What are the necessay checks to be made after this kind of activity?

Same checks you'd make with any software; starts normally, clean error logs, that sort of thing.
