You use the product as a black box, with known interfaces, so why would you care if named pipes are involved inside the black box?

If you need to know the answer to this because of a security audit requirement, then the word of random, anonymous or semi-anonymous entities on the internet will not count.

You will need to either search for an official answer on IBM's website or open a PMR and get an official answer.

AFAIK, MQ does not use Named Pipes, but it does use Interprocess Communication Facilities, like shared memory, semaphores, cross-memory services, global memory (depending on technology that is available on each platform). It also uses communications protocols like TCP Sockets, WinSock, LU6.2, which may be local or reach across a network. Unencrypted MQ message data flows over all these protocols, unless you take steps to encrypt it (SSL, MQSE, Exits).
