Hi. I keep on getting the 2063 reason code when trying to connect my MQ Client to the MQServer using the amqsputc test application provided by MQ. I am logged on using a domain account, servicemq, when I tried to run the application. Here are my security settings:
- I created a local group called internetclientgrp and added servicemq as member of this group
- I gave internetclientgrp a +allmqi rights on all my queues residing on queue manager TESTQM
- servicemq is also a member of the local mqm group
what do you think is wrong with my setup. any help would be kindly appreciated. |

This is how I setup my MQServer (running on win2k, machine name is xhkg71t1101b). Before I install it, I logged on using a domain user account (hkg\servicemq) because I want the mq service to run under this account. But it seems that it still used MUSR_MQADMIN as the account that would run the service. Using the MQExplorer, I can't even see the underlying objects of my queue manager when I'm logged as hkg\servicemq. I can only see them when I'm logged on as a local admin. I came across this mqseries v.5.2 release note with a special mention about win2k. A domain mqm group was mentioned in this document but it seems that I don't have a domain mqm group. Do I need to create this group and add hkg\servicemq as a member of this group? I only have a local mqm group. There is also a command there on how to configure mqseries services to run under a domain user. I issued the command but still, the services are still running under MUSR_MQADMIN.
What do I need to do? I'm kinda new with this MQSeries setup (i mean, using a domain account to run MQ). Please help me. Btw, here's the error that I got from the event log when i tried to run amqsputc:
Access was denied when attempting to retrieve group membership information for user 'servicemq@hkg'.
MQSeries, running with the authority of user 'musr_mqadmin@xhkg71t1101b', was unable to retrieve group membership information for the specified user.
Ensure Active Directory access permissions allow user 'musr_mqadmin@xhkg71t1101b' to read group memberships for user 'servicemq@hkg'. To retrieve group membership information for a domain user, MQSeries must run with the authority of a domain user. |
