Is this an MQ question?
Do you mean disk space? How do you know you are losing space?
Which files are growing in size?
What platform? Win? UNIX? z/OS?
Are there any error messages? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Yup, what i meant was disk space. I'm running MQ in WIN platform. Nope there are no error messages. Files with SQL*.DAT has the largest file size in my server.
thanks in advance. |

Well depending on a lot of stuff I'd say you really need to look for the culprit.
If you are using linear logging there are support packs out there to manage the logs. I personally favor MS0L. It will work for Unix and windows.
Now SQL*.DAT is the database file for your MSSQL server. Don't know what you all keep in that database, but it's a good guess that this is not a file you want to tamper with.
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

How to manage MQ logs is well-documented in the WMQ System Administration Guide manual. You might want to start there.
WMQ logs are named AMQERR01, ...02...03 for error logs; while message logs are named Snnnnnnn.LOG.
If the Snnnnnnnn.LOG files (segments) occupy a lot of your disk space, older log segments can be deleted (or archived).
Again, this is all documented. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
