I must say I was quite surprised.
My contact with the Indian British side knows that the term is much used there.
However I have seen it being used very seldom in the US.
I wonder what is the likelyhood of it being used in the UK?

Is this a geographical colloquialism?

How widespread is the use of this word?

Thanks for enlightening a poor schmuck who's still grappling sometimes in a foreign language.

There needs to be another choice added - Never!

I've heard it a lot in the UK, and in fact anywhere where there is a large cadre of workers from the sub-continent. I think your question regarding whether it is a geographical colloquialism has more than a grain of truth to it.

Took the liberty to add 'Never' as an option.
