Hi,
I've a MQ PC program subscribe to a Q in AIX server thru TCPIP, between MQ client and AIX server is a firewall, firewall will automatic cut the connection if there is no activity between client and server at a period of time, the question now is does MQ maintain the connection even there is no activity during a period of time like sending/receiving keep alive message between MQ client and server? If yes, is that the default setting? If no, any other way to solve this problem? _________________ Regards,

I faced the same problem, however in my case I do not have firewal. Inmy case for some reason client closes without closing the connection. Because my clients connects using MQI channel, I witneesed the channel process amqcrsta growing every day and finally leads to a condition where total number of processes running with mqm id exceed the max allowed by AIX.
To fix this problem I added TCP stanza in qm.ini file
TCP:
KeepAlive=Yes
hope this helps.
