I am getting some strange problem , when I try to start the Broker...Its not starting and it gives the following message in the Event viewer (Windows XP)

( MB7BROKER ) Message broker internal error: diagnostic information ''ImbConfigStoreCacheItem::throwConfigStoreCacheItemGenericException() reported 'The data file is empty.' with values... ''CSCI0004'' ''The following data file is empty. brokeraaeg''''.   

An internal software error has occurred in the message broker.  Further messages will indicate the effect of this error on the broker's transactions.  The diagnostic information associated with this message is: ''ImbConfigStoreCacheItem::throwConfigStoreCacheItemGenericException() reported 'The data file is empty.' with values... ''CSCI0004'' ''The following data file is empty. brokeraaeg''''.   

Shutdown and restart the message broker.  If the problem continues to occur, then restart the system.  If the problem still continues to occur contact your IBM support center. 


This is the first time I am getting this problem, is there any solution for this?

Yes, there is a solution.

Code:
1. Shutdown and restart the message broker.  2. If the problem continues to occur, then restart the system.  3. If the problem still continues to occur contact your IBM support center.


Open a PMR if you get to #3.

If on Windows and a recent install, try re-installing the software. Don't forget to add maintenance fix paks also.

Is the brokeraaeg file in the <workpath>\components\<brokerName>\repository directory actually empty?

If so, delete and recreate the broker. Then make sure you've connected to it from Toolkit and can create an EG.

brokeraaeg file was empty.

So, deleted the broker and recreated. Problem is solved. Thanks.

Technically that is a fix that will PREVENT the problem. It's not a fix for after the problem has already occurred.

Once those files are empty, the only supported resolution is to delete and recreate the Broker.
