Dear Xperts, plz tell me, what is maximum number of process definitions, I can create in a QMGR.
Is there any limit or so?
MQ Version : 7.0.0.1

if your current mq or application design is afraid of hitting a limit in the number of process definitions, then you should review and think again and consider a different design. _________________ Regards, Butcher |

There may be a requirement of, creating 50 - 60 process definitions, which will have different task assigned to each of it. |

That won't be a problem unless it would fork instances/processes/connections in indefinite loop !

There is no hard limit on the number of PROCESS objects defined in a queue manager. This is unrelated to O/S processes, which does have some limit.
As suggested, if you need a very large number (say hundreds) of MQ PROCESS objects, you should revisit the application design. _________________ Glenn |

I must test this theory out...
I'd suspect that there is one of those "how many things can you count in a 32-bit signed binary field" kind of limit here. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I considered quibbling on the basis of a loose definition of "hard limit".
But I decided that there were better things to discuss. |
