Hi,
In my current project, we are supposed to use MQ File transfer edition. We are also using MB for integration as MB is an advanced ESB.
I have a question, correct me if am wrong.
Can we use MB provided file transfer nodes instead of this MQ File transfer edition?
Which is better??Which is efficient?? MQ file transfer edition or MB file nodes.
Thanks in advance |

Also, of course, Broker 7.0.0.1 now has native MQFTE nodes.
So the picture is even more ... well, there are more choices. |

Hi,

MB can be used with FTE, at present there is no special awareness of FTE by MB, but this is likely to change in future releases of MB. |
I didn't quite understand this statement....what is the special awareness required from MB ?

You cannot use MB *instead* of MQFTE. You will use MB as just another agent in the MQFTE landscape.
MB will not give you the FTE console to configure file transfers between agents, so you will need to purchase FTE (or trade-up). Also, MB will just be 1 agent, you need atleast two to tango, I mean source and destination
On which is better, definitely MQFTE. It can handle transfers of unlimited quantity of data without clogging bandwidth...imagine sending 1Tb over FTP. There are other benefits, but primary reason to not use FTP nodes would be the reliability and performance.
Its a different discussion on whether I could and how I'd work with 1Tb inside broker.
Regards. |

Special awareness means that MB 7.0.0.1 and FTE directly interoperate programmatically, instead of both of them just using the same file directory (indirect). |

Also, if you are using an earlier version of WMB(6.1 or 6.0, and 7.0 without latest fixpack one ) you can integrate with FTE by sending File transfer command to SYSTEM.FTE.COMMAND.<AgentName>. |
