Hi,

I am new to ESQL coding. I have a requirement to extract the last 5 digits of an incoming Message ID (48 chars in hex) using ESQL coding. Could someone please help with a sample eqsl code.

Thanks in advance.

there are lot of string functions available in ESQL

SUBSTRING function will help you out in this case.

I dont want to give a hint about how to retrieve Message ID from the message,

i suggest you to dig on it, get a trace and understand about it.

go ahead learn, its a great product

If the message id is system generated (as it should be for reasons discussed many times in here) then I struggle to see what value this could add. Why this requirement?
