Hello,
Do the toolkit and Broker versions go hand in hand?
We currently have Broker 6.1.0.4 deployed in our production environment.
I believe 6.1.0.7 has been released. The Broker install is managed by a separate team in our organization. We have recommended that they move to 6.1.0.7, but not sure when it will happen.
As a developer, can I upgrade the toolkit to 6.1.0.7? I know it will work fine with Broker 6.1.0.4, but wanted to check if there is any best practise that says that the toolkit and Broker versions should be the same.
Thanks in advance! |

It will work fine until you try to deploy a function that the toolkit supports and the broker does not.
However I don't think there is much functional difference between 6.1.04 and 07. Plenty of bug fixes though. |

Below message may be useful to you !
I had an issue configuring Broker 6.0 in BToolkit 6.1. I configured successfully but failed to set JVM Debug port..
I verified IBM site and identified as version of Broker toolkit and Broker should be same. _________________ WebSphere MQ, MB Support and Admin |

There is a big, important, meaningful difference between trying to use Broker Toolkit 6.1 against Broker 6.0 or Broker 7.0, and trying to use Broker Toolkit 6.1 FixPack 7 against Broker 6.1 FixPack 4.
The later is supported, the others are not. You do not need to keep Toolkit and Broker synced at the same FixPack level, but you *should* keep them synced at the same Version. |
