There have been several reported instances of PMs sent under the site administrator name. There are links within the PMs which are most likely to be dangerous.
for the time being we have disabled PMs for all users while we look into and investigate the problem.

apparently the phishing PMers are back.
we have disabled PMs for now and taken action against the offending member id.
DO NOT click on URLs within PMs sent to you by those unknown to you. |

Am not even able to Open my mailbox. I can see in my profile 1 new message is there BUT "Private messaging has been disabled on this board" I get this.

Perhaps the thinking was that only the Spam and Phishing PMs - Private Messaging Disabled; and that the non-Span and non-Phishing PMs remained enabled.

And if there's any technology / ideas for fitting the PM fuction with a spam filter I feel sure they'd be most welcome.

Years ago Katie Couric had an anti-virus software creator on her newscast. She asked (incredulously) why don't "they" simply disable the computer instructions that hackers use?

and I am surprised coz PM has been disabled since 22nd (since after Mehrdad posted last message). I was checking my 'PM' is still disabled or not ! and culprit is still away
