Hi,
What is the difference between suspending a queue manager from cluster and removing a queue manager from cluster ?
Requirement :
I'm going to Reboot a server (linux) which has cluster queue manager. So before rebooting i have make sure that all traffic has to be diverted to another queue manager which is in same cluster.
I would like to know the steps in order to carry out this activity.
Thanks in advance. |

Clearly defined in the WMQ Queue Manager Clusters manual.

The manual, again. SUSPEND should do it for you. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Is this a serious question?
To add to bruce2359's comment, bear in mind that traffic can still go to a suspended queue manager if it contains the only valid target in the cluster. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

cluster is very interesting to do all such things... as bruce said that SUSPEND would work.. Agree !
There are other things you can do to divert the messages, by setting DEFAULT BINDING TYPE on the queue(s), PUT Inhibited on the queue(s), Connect to the QMgr to which you want to route the messages, if application is not connecting to the Gateway Qmgr.
* Takecare, when you care SUSPENDing the queue manager from the Cluster anyways. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |
