Hi,
We are using MQ 6 on z/os 1.9 . I want to setup a alert notification if the MQ logs are going to be full.
is there any way to send this kind of alert?
We have TMON in our environment for MQ related alerts and notification, is it possible to configure the Log full alert using TMON?

Watch for the console message that indicates this - check the z/OS admin guide for details.

You need to read the WMQ for z/OS System Setup Guide, and WMQ for z/OS System Administration Guide manuals.
First of all, logged data lives in log datasets - not in/on a filesystem.
The above manuals describe how logs are managed on the mainframe. It is very different from midrange WMQ.
Archiving of log datasets is automatic (if the sysadmin has done his/her job).
If you are new to mainframes, you need some fundamental skills training. z/OS is dramatically different from UNIX and Windows. z uses a very-different batch scripting language (JCL), for example.

That automation can fail for a multitude of reasons, hence the need to monitor for MQ using the last log dataset, and its percentage full. I've seen this happen several times over the ten years. If left unchecked, MQ will stop processing persistent messages and UOWs.

The series of posts from aditya.aggarwal indicate that adita is at the beginning of the mainframe journey.

z/OS is a very different platform, with different tools. I'm suggesting that z/OS experience is a prerequisite to effective system administration.
There are very different tools for doing z/OS and WMQ admin on z, than on midrange platforms. Most mainframe shops have robust automated operations (to watch for console messages, for example) and job schedulers that are better suited to doing admin on z.

we use the CSQJ* messages in our system monitoring to raise alerts if there are any problems with the logfiles.
In addition we use dual logging. in case active logs become full MQseries switches to single logging, giving you some time to fix the error before stoppein any work because all active logs are full. (thats not the main reason we use dual logging for, but its a nice secondary effect).
