Hi,

How do you find out what is the version of MQSeries installed on a UNIX machine?

Another question:
How do we know whether a UNIX machine has the MQSeries Server or MQSeries Client installed on it?

This has to be done programatically.

Typing mqver usually has the desired effect of telling you what version / CSD your qmgr is at - don't see why you can't issue this through a system command.

Not sure about the client thing, I assume that mqver only works for servers - so this may be of some help.

In Sun Solaris and HP-UX this info is in a file called:
/opt/mqm/READMES/en_US/memo.ptf
