I need to use an eisting WMB on a z/os.
I have 2 questions
- When using a multi-core machine around 32 cores, how many execution groups should you use on a z/os
- Do you connect tthrough the toolkit to a z/os in a simular manner in which you connect to Unix platforms |

This support pak has performance benchmarks for WMB on ZOS:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg24010453&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
Your mileage will vary. In my experience, zos is the second choice, AIX would be the first choice to run Broker runtime. We tried both and ended up pulling the Broker runtime off the zos system. In our environment, the cost vs. value was ten times more expensive for the zos than if we ran same on AIX. We felt AIX gives better bang for the buck.
How did you arrive at the conclusion that you wanted zos? Do you have unused cycles on zos that you want to consume? |
