Hi All,
We have recived an candle alert sayinh that Queue manager status is unknown. However the queue manager is up and running fine also it is functioing fine. We didnot see any issue with the quue manager.
Can any one advice why we are recieving this alert though queue manager is fine??
Any idea what is the value/parameter the agent looks from queue manager to determine it's status?
I will appriciate your quick response. |

I'm going back a few years here so mix this advice with a pinch of salt, but IIRC it determines status by issuing PCF commands. So in your case I'd start by checking the command server is working correctly (which has nothing directly to do with the queue manager running) and of course that the agent is working normally!
It can easily be the case the status of the queue manager is unknown because the agent has stopped sending it.
As always, the OS you're using & the version of WMQ and Candle your using would be helpful. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Also make sure there is no communications problem between the MQ Server and your Candle Server (TEMS).

It's a bit of software; sometimes it stops working! The number of possible cases in which it will happen are the same for any piece of software, and the recovery likewise...

If I Remember Correctly - like I said, it's been a few years since I worked with this.

Again IIRC it does channel status commands, checks queue depths, that sort of thing. I suspect your problem is more fundamental as it claims not to know anything about the queue manager. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
