Hello,

is there an equivalent command 'runmqsc' (from Unix platform) under mainframe z/OS ?
Is yes, could you provide me a short description or how-to about its usage ?

(I'm not a mainframe person)

Thanks,
Bruno

CSQUTIL. It's in the z/OS manual.

Do a search in this section. You need JCL to run it, there have been some discussions in here one of which at least included a sample but it will need to be edited to conform to your site standards. As a minimum you'll need to change:

- STEPLIB
- job class
- message class

You'll also need relevant RACF authorities to run it (z/OS doesn't have the concept of the mqm superuser).

That's about as short as it gets. Seek help from your sys progs.

Take a look at the WMQ for z/OS System Administration manual.

On z/OS there is also a MQSC interface on the ISPF SDSF command input line using "/", eg. "/$CSQ1 dis chs(*)", where '$' is the subsystem recognition character (if there is one defined). Long commands can be entered and recalled using "/" on its own.

There is also a new MQSC interface in the MQ v7.0 ISPF panels Main Menu. Its option 8.

However, controlled administration should be done using CSQUTIL with the JCL and MQSC commands stored in dataset members, and properly commented with change numbers etc.

Also, support pack MO72 might also be helpful
Basically you will client connect to your MF QMGR and execute the MQSC commands
Ofcourse you need to have Client Attachment Feature
