I have seen this problem hapenning when the version of MA88 is not matching with MQSeries version. Pl see Nick's response in following thread:

The problem may be with your classpath. Ensure that quotes are around directories with spaces or that you use the short name. For example: "E:\Program Files\IBM\MQSeries\Java\lib\com.ibm.mq.jar" or E:\Progra~1\IBM\MQSeries\Java\lib\com.ibm.mq.jar.
I recommend using the short name. |

firoz,
The culprit here i strongly believe is MQSeries 5.2!!!.MQSI2.0.1 ConfigMgr will not start with MQS 5.2, what ever might be the version of java classes.Try MQSeries 5.1 and i am sure it will work as it happened with me. you don't need ma88 with MQS 5.1 as it comes with the jars required.but remember to add them to ur classpath! _________________ Regs,

Folks,
I tried with a Fresh Install of W2K Professional
MQSeries 5.2 + CSD + MA88 and MQSI 2.0.1 installation was successful (this time with shorter names)
Still the same problem. Classes missing. |

Please send me the required .jar files. I believe com.ibm.mq.jar is the only one that have the versioning issue ? |

Thanks for the jar files.
My installation:
W2K Professional
5.2 + CSD + MA88 (under Administrator ID)
Installed MQSI ver 2.0.1(+DB2 6.1) - part of all the mq* groups
Copied ver 5.1 com.ibm.mq.jar file... This time the Control Centre is hanging withnother message which implies timed out.
BIP1350E: The current operation has timed out.
DB2 is also configured and connected to the ODBC. All the 3 databases has been given the GRANT ALL authority.
Also, as I learned from the forum, bipconfigmgr.exe comes in and disappears in the task manager.
It seems somehow the control center is not able to start.
In your case, was your installation a 5.1+2.0.1 OR was it 5.2+2.0.1+the 5.1 version of com.ibm.mq.jar.
Please clarify
Firoz. |

Hi Firoz,
I suspect that the 'current operation has timed out' message is unrelated to the .jar file problem.
Have you tried deleting the configmgr (with the -q option) and then re-creating it ?
Regards,
Nick. |

Truee..
2.0.1 is the bad guy...
Now V5.2 works perfect with MQSI2.1. |

I use 2.0.1 with MQ Series 5.2 with no problems, apart from the fact that the lib path for Java libraries changed in 5.2 but I believe this was more a specific problem on Unix but there may have been implications in NT, I think I remember moving the Java directory back to where it was in 5.1 so that I didn't need to change the classpath. Anyway definitely check that you have the lib directory and the appropriate jar files in your classpath.
Anyway, believe me there are no problems with 2.0.1 working with MQ 5.2 either in the config manager or the broker.
cheers
