Hi,
I am experiencing the following error and do not know whether it is an NT / Network error or whether it is an MQ problem.
background:
We have a Central queue manager (WIndows NT) in a hub-and-spoke configuration with about 20 remote queue managers. The operating systems are Win NT, 2000 and AIX. We have several MQ 5.2 servers and 3 MQ 5.2 Clients installed. The current configuration has been stable for about 2 years.
Recently we added another business unit to the configuration (MQ 5.2 on
Windows 2000 server). They have a firewall through which we have to
connect.
They set it up properly and it was working fine, but recently had a power
surge and their firewall had to be re-constructed.
problem:
Since then we were able to start channels from central mq to then, but
could not get the channel from them to central mq to work properly. It sometimes starts and runs for a short while then goes into a retrying state.
On our central MQ server's event viewer we see the following error:
"The TCP/IP responder program could not be started.
An attempt was made to start an instance of the responder program, but the
program was rejected.
The failure could be because either the subsystem has not been started (in
this case you should start the subsystem), or there are too many programs
waiting (in this case you should try to start the responder program later).
The reason code was 0. "
I saw an old note in the archives mentioning that it could be due to
maximum channels exceeded, but this setting is set to 500 (also max active channels) and there are only about 40 sender and receiver channels collectively.
I also deleted and re-created both the sender and receiver channels bu still have the same problem.
