Hello MQTeam,
I am working on message expiry concept.I had created a local queue named Samp in Queue Manager QM1. Then using RFHUTIL i had placed a message in to it.I this process I had set expiry time as 20 in MQMD header related to this message. But after putting the message in to the Samp queue and checked the properties of message and I found it is unlimited.
How come we can set this expiry time to a message using RFHUTIL rather than using APIs.
Need your inputs team.
regards,
Vam |

How did you set expiry in the MQMD? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I gave the path of my text file,QM Name and Queue name in the Main tab of RFHUTIL and I went to the MQMD tab of RFHUTIL and gave the time(as 20) in expiry coloum.
After giving the expiry time, I came back to Main tab and clicked on WriteQ option, thus the it wrote message to the Queue. And waited, but the message doesnt expires. Then checked the message properties and found ,that the expiry is still as default attribute.i,e.Unlimited.
Could you please let me know, how to set expiry time to message using RFHUTIL? |

If it is not possible through RFHUTIL, please let me know the sample command or code used for setting it through MQ API(just for reference).
Thanks,
Vam |

Did you read the WMQ Application Programming Reference manual regarding the expiry value of the MQMD? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
