Have not setup triggered channels for a while and I did get them to work - but I need to reconcile these questions as next time around I would prefer doing something first time:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. TRIGGERDATA on XMIT Q: According to the Intercom manual: WebSphere MQ for iSeries, UNIX systems, and Windows systems, allow the channel name to be specified as blank, in which case the first available channel definition with this transmission queue is used.
.... however, the triggered channels I defined on AIX did not work unless I included this name in TRIGGERDATA. Any idea why?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Channel initiator. I did see runmqchi running, however there was one msg. on CURDEPTH of the SYSTEM.CHANNEL.INITQ and - nothing. I had to alter the queue manager SCHINIT(MANUAL) - then manually start the channel initiator with SYSTEM.CHANNEL.INITQ.
.... is this normal, or should it have worked the first time around?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks,

What version of WMQ? On some early verions of V6 it did what you've observed despte claims in the documentation to the contrary.

See comment above. Sounds like the message failed to trigger a channel. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
