Could someone comment on the proper documentation and recommendations to set up HA for Linux and AIX MQ/WMB environments?
Researching HA setup for WMQ and WMB in both Linux and AIX platforms - I have not set up HA in the past.
Used to be several MQ HA support packs - there are mostly gone and/or withdrawn.
Looked into IC91 - but it ends up containing MC91 - withdrawn.

They are withdrawn but not forgotten.
You do not require them if you are using Broker and MQ v7, which since you are building a new install of course you will use.
Broker and MQ v7 provide for multi-instance configurations, which provides HA capabilities using MQ as the HA resource controller.
You can also still use IC91/MC91 and an external HA resource controller. |

Thanks ... so is this IC91/MC91 merged? IC91 contains the MC91 components?
We are not using MQ 7 ... still 6. |

Follow MC91 first for MQ. If you are also going to have a Broker, then add IC91 on top of that.

Thank you Peter - nice redbook draft Glenn.
I actually worked w/MQ since Version 1.0 (NCR, Solaris, S390, HP) - but have not done much with it since around V5 - I have been an App Server defector, but it's good to come home to the new MQ. |
