Having re-installed WMQ 5.2 on my NT4 machine I am having considerable difficulty getting the service started...in fact I can't start it.
Currently I have installed under a local userid, after having installation problems when using my network id. MUSR_MQADMIN is there and is a member of the Administrators and mqm groups. I have run 'dcomcnfg', verified access permissions etc., compared Registry keys, bounced the PC, replaced 'WebSphere MQ' with 'WebSph~1', and followed all the known suggestions in the various archives.
At present the 'Prepare MQ' wizard appears to start the service (the arrow in the MQ task bar icon alters direction, to upwards) but the MQSeries service has not started due to 'Error 1069 Logon Failure: unknown user or bad password'. However I have checked and rechecked both, as well as trying other valid userids and passwords to start the service. MQ Explorer and MQServices snap-ins appear to work OK.
I realise that something is out of sorts with my 'MUSR_MQADMIN' but am at a bit of a loss where to look next. I have installed MQ many times on NT and 2k, and have come across similar problems before, but have always, up to now, been able to solve the problem.
MQ 5.3 has been fine for a couple of months....this only occurred when I re-installed.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. |

Eventually sorted it out....seemed to be caused by 'c:\Program Files.....'...when I altered the paths for amqsvc and amqmsrvn to 'c:\progra~1\ibm\websph~1....' in the NT Registry I was able to get past an 'Error 193 not a valid NT app' problem and also what appeared to be, but weren't, WIn2K Domain Error problems in the 'Prepare' wizard. |
