Hi
I have a little bit of EAI Architectural issue here!!
In our MQ landscape, we currently use MQ Link for R/3 (here after referred to as R/3 Link) which is a standalone adapter to provide connectivity between Websphere MQ and SAP Systems. As R/3 link is going out of service at the end of March 2010, we need to migrate it to some other adapter so that this migration could be done with least effort and cost!!
After browsing through the Internet on this, I have found that IBM Software Group has recommended Websphere Adapter for SAP Software (here after referred to as WS Adapter) as the ideal replacement for R/3 Link.
http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?subtype=ca&infotype=an&appname=iSource&supplier=897&letternum=ENUS908-055
But implementing this adapter has a basic architectural issue in our landscape. WS Adapter requires a runtime environment such as WS Message Broker, WAS etc, and we do not have any such thing available. SAP directly connects to MQ through R/3 Link from where it is sent to different target systems.
I have heard that Websphere Business Integration Adapters are also stand alone Java Applications. Is that correct? If so, what is the feasibility of migrating MQ Link for R/3 to WBI Adapter for SAP Software?
Please note that I am an MQ Technician, and I have only minimal knowledge of WMB.
Is there any other adapter which we could implement without having to install MB or any other runtime environment and deploying the adapter within it?
Could anybody please suggest a solution to this problem? |
