I'm trying to set up a sandbox environment for WMB 7.0 on a WinXP virtual machine. This is the first time I've tried setting up WMB 7.0, so maybe I missed a step or something. However, everything appeared to install correctly, but when I go to create the default configuration I get an error.
I'm executing Create Default Configuration from the MB Explorer. It seems to have no difficulties creating the default queue manager and broker. However, when it goes to create the default execution group, I get an error that looks like this:
mqsicvp.exe: The application has failed to start because MQM.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I did completely uninstall WMB 7 toolkit, runtime, explorer, MQ 7.0.1, and the IBM installation manager and reinstalled from scratch. I did verify that my login ID was under the Administrators group and in the mqm and mqbrks groups.
I also verified that MQM.dll is installed. It's under C:\Program Files\ibm\WebSphere MQ\bin and bin64. The bin directory is also in my system's Path variable.
I'm sure I'm just making a silly mistake, but I'm hoping someone here might be kind enough to point out my error.
Thank you,
Curt |

Try putting the "C:\Program Files\ibm\WebSphere MQ\bin" folder at the front of your system path (and then reboot to get this change picked up) as it is possible that the path is two long and the "bin" folder is falling off the end...

Thanks for the help. My Path system variable was relatively small, but I moved the relevant path to the front and rebooted and now it works.
I think since I was installing this on a VMWare virtual machine that after the install the system didn't restart and it just didn't pick up all the new additions to the Path and stuff.
Thanks again! |
