I am trying to do understand and research more information on MQseries. I only understand a little about MQ channels and the distribution queues. All the information that I find is fairly technical and I don't understand it. If you were to provide some kind of basic demo what would you use to explain it to me and how (very basic)? Can you please explain in basic terms how this works from start to finish?

Thank you so much!

- We're not a training resource, and are not equipted to become one
- There are a number of people who are, and I urge you to get formal training from one of them (WMQ isn't the easiest thing to pick up single handed)
- The Intercommunication manual has some useful diagrams and introductory text that should suit you.

But if you already understand channels & distributed queuing you're probably well on your way anyway.

When I remember my old days, I used MQprimer as bible. I probably read a lot of times before I was able to understand other redbooks.

Here it is:

Primer is best to get started with MQ, then deepen your knowledge with the V6 fundamentals...

also you can look here http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/zones/businessintegration/newto/?S_TACT=105AGX10&S_CMP=LP

and believe it or not YouTube too! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mqseries&search_type=&aq=f

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=websphere+mq&search_type=&aq=f

this should keep you busy for some time

Eager to learn? Don't call it "MQ Series". That product name went out of marketing years ago. The correct name is "WebSphere MQ". Most of us just call it "MQ" for short. Pity this forum uses the old name, but IT moves fast, and old habits die hard.

"distribution queues" is not quite correct, they are called "transmission queues".

Welcome to the stellar world of MQ messaging. There is too much to learn !!

Get on a "MQ technical overview" course if you can.
