I have used the BlockIP exit before without issues. But I am getting some issues while moving to BlockIP2. The usage of BlockIP2.ini and/or specific configuration file is confusing.
The manual does point out using the BlockIP2.ini file with all queue manager/channel on a given host and avoiding the specific file per channel.

I like that approach and would like to use that. But when I put SCYDATA('NONE') the exit is assuming NONE as the hostname and trying to match it against that.

As per the BlockIP2 manual
"SCYDATA('NONE') is used together with the default BlockIP2.ini configuration file to allow specification without defaults."

2010-01-26|15:10:09| 918|GetHostIP(): Unknow host/IP for: [NONE]
2010-01-26|15:10:09| 918|Connection refused for pattern [NOE] .....

I tried to use SCYDATA('') and then it complains about bad specification

2010-01-26|15:21:22| 920|Errors SCYDATA specification - Connection refused for Channel [ADMIN.SVRCONN]

Thanks in Advance,
Sachin

There needs to be a single space character between the quotes to set an empty value of a MQ object attribute.

I get that. I have tried it with the space as well.

But my point is, the manual actually mentions that "NONE" is a keyword. So that should be working. I should not have to specify a blank.

Btw, I moved to an individual file per channel to continue my testing.

But eventually I would like to move to a single file.

Thanks,
Sachin

It sounds like a bug in BlockIPv2.

Hi Jørgen ,

Any thoughts on this? Is this a bug?

Thanks,
Sachin
