Chaps,

MQSI 6.1.0.4
MQ 7.0.0.2
AIX 6.x

I would like to know if anyone has come across this behaviour or can explain it.

I have a broker flow reading from a local queue through a qalias. The broker is running as a user not in the mqm group so we need to set OAM security for that user.

We grant -all +get +inq on the qalias and the messages are processed. So far so good.

If we make the flow fail by put(disabled) its output queue, messages are diverted to the flow's failure queue which is what we expect.

If we now put(disabled) the failure queue we get errors (2035) in the trace indicating that we are unable to open the target of the qalias so we think that the broker is trying to find a backout queue name which is defined to the qlocal.

This is expected so we grant -all +inq on the qlocal & it still fails with 2035. I did not expect this so we add +get to the qlocal & it still gives 2035 which is getting more strange so we investigate further.

Our investigation shows that -all +inq +browse does work and the messages are backed out to the backout queue.

Can anyone explain why +browse is neede in addition to +inq?

Thanks
