We're planning a migration from z/OS 1.9 to z/OS for a client running WMQv6. I've checked the system requirements and it doesn't seem to be a problem, but thought I'd ask if anybody's running z/OS 1.11 with WMQ (any version 5.3.1 -> 7) and if there's been any problems or issues ?
On a larger point, if anybody's done such a migration are there any gotchas I should warn the z/OS people about? Or just brace myself for? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
Insanity is the best defence.
We are running MQ for z/OS 6.0, using QSG on z/OS 1.9 and 1.11 on various LPARs in a Parallel Sysplex environment. Haven't had any problems with 1.11 yet.
A number of problems at the early stage
–IEFC452I AXR01 -JOB NOT RUN -JCL ERROR
?SysRexx failed, missing AXRNN proc
–MQ results in the failure (rc 440) when the certificate is used
?zOS1.11 changed the way it handles certificates
?The certificate has the Extended Key Usage extension
?APAR OA30417 corrects the issue
–Received many SOC4 abend from module IEAVTSLP/IEAVTSL1
?Cause reason-both COMP= & MSGID= specified on a slip.
?They should be mutually exclusive (See APAR OA30397)
