We are using Message Broker 5.0 and need to have connectivity for Oracle Rdb(not regular Oracle DB) on VMS. Broker is on AIX box. Is there any ODBC driver for this? or does Broker support this? If so how do we get connected? This is urgent requirement. Please help.

Thanks
Sam

You are aware that V5 Broker is out of support?

AFAIK, RDB (ah there's a nice DB..., worked for Dec for 20yrs) was never a supported Database for Broker.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Best mechanism to meet this *urgent* requirement is to install Broker v7 and use a JDBC call using any JDBC driver that Oracle supports for Oracle RDB.

If oracle doesn't support any JDBC driver for Oracle RDB, then you are twice as much out of luck as you were.

Thank you.

I know I am aware of it. But help less.

You mean Broker V7 support Oracle Rdb? Is there any way we can add new 'Database Vendort type' in message broker tool kit? There are ODBC driver softwares are available for Oracle rdb. So we should be able to connect as Broker support ODBC. I might be wrong if anybody can put some light on it.

Thanks
Sam

mqjef's reply said JDBC not ODBC

In V7 you can use any ORacle supported JDBC driver. If ORacle supply one for RDB then you should be able to use it.
