Hardware platform?
MQ version/release and maintenance level please.
Did you search Google for the tcp error codes? What did you discover?
What did you network folks say? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Have a look HERE for a detailed explanation of the error, and the Windoze logs (Event Viewer) may give additional info. It's Windows, so give it the three-fingered salute and see if that fixes it. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

In winerror.h the name for this error number is WSAEINVAL.
Meaning: "An invalid argument was supplied."
An internet search turns up a Microsoft issue that appears only to relate to Windows NT 4.0. Assuming you are not running such old software, I would advise raising this with IBM support. |

One more thing, just came up in my mind. I have recently taken a broadband connection that allocates my ip dynamically (DHCP), I guess that is making all this mess.
So any fix on this ?
I think I should reinstall MQ with DHCP option. Please comment. |

why would you expect that a Windows/TCP error can be fixed by reinstalling WMQ? |

WMQ does not have a DHCP option - either strict IP Addresses or a Hostname are used in a CONNAME. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Do you mean you are trying to connect to your organization Queue manager from your laptop? How about the security setup or Firewall settings of your company? OR do you have these 2 queue managers on your laptop and you are trying to connect both of them? _________________ Regards

Restarting??
Did the channel work previously?
Did you successfully do an ip ping?
Did you successfully do an MQ PING?
Did the channel start?
Did messages flow? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

yes, channel had beeen working fine earlier.
On my machine, I have other qmgrs in a cluster and cluster channels are in RUNNING state.
Also, I have just now created 2 new qmgrs in my system, they use DQM and SDR channels are in RUNNING state.
|

WMQ does use DHCP option, when you install, you will get that option as well.
|

Really? I'll have to review the installation of WMQ on Windows, because I don't remember seeing that...hmmm _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
