Hai,
I have to transfer the data that is from Windows-DB2 to AIX/AS400 - Oracle using message flow or data flow in MQSI. I have to transfer the whole data with out any modification..I have to send data between two different platforms can you guide me how to do..can anyone give me small examples how we can do data transfer between two different platforms.I have an interview and I have to explain them how data transfer is done between the platforms...the company main concern is they have to transfer the whole data from Windows - DB2 to AIX/AS400 - Oralce using messge flow or data flow in MQSI.. are they any books to refer these topis..

Hi TomPagan,

Could you please explain the "AIX/AS400 - Oracle" part of your message.

Will you need to populate an Oracle database on AIX and one on AS400?

Using just MQSI/WMQI to do this will involve using an ODBC connection to DB/2 and Oracle which may be straight forward (I might build another database for MQSI to use which is populated with metadata to aid in the transfer from one database to the other). However, going to the AS400 may be a little tricky. Oracle has a Gateway product to AS400, but I would imagine you will have to trigger the transfer of the data from the MQSI-populated Oracle database on AIX to get the data over to the AS400.

Please supply a bit more info if you have it.
