i already installed
Design Studio 8.3, Integration Servers 8.3 to use with WMB.
for WPG, which component i need to install??

From the sg247693.pdf,
Quote: |
WebSphere Transformation Extender Trading Manager complements WebSphere Partner Gateway. |
So i believe the Transformation Extender for Integration Servers is not a fit for WPG + WTX interaction.
Hope that helps |

I have personally never worked with WTX and WPG. However like you pointed, Design Studio installs on Windows development servers and this is where you would develop maps and trees.
WTX for Integration Servers runtime to be installed at the correct level on Solaris 10 environment.
If i had my way, I would keep a central location where all transformation is done irrespective of whether the data arrives via WPG or WMB.
This server would have WTX installed (lower costs in terms of maintenance/licensing).
IIRC, the WTX for Integration Servers has a lot more functionality than using WTX for WPG.
Just my 0.02$ |

If you simply want to create a map to call from a WPG exit, you would use the SDK and the API engine (WTX for Application Programming).
Trading Manager is an application that is very similar to WPG without all the communication protocol. Unless you have a specific reason to need it (maybe HIPAA), then you don't want it. It is not required. In fact, since it is similar to WPG you would end up having to maintain partner profiles in two places. |

In much the same way that you configure any other Eclipse-based tooling - install the plugin. See this thread:

A few things. First off, I have never set up WTX with ClearCase. I know in the past the answer to these source control questions was that WTX could hook in to anything that complied with Microsoft SCCI. I'm not sure if this still applies with Eclipse now in the mix. In fact, that makes me question why WTX has to hook in to a source control package by itself. It would seem that Eclipse probably has plug-ins for what you want. If so, the maps/trees are just files. |

Hi,
you need command server to run WPG/WTX. In WPG System Admin settings "Common Properties" you can set the RMI server/Port for WTX command server. Then you will need to set a directory where you put all maps (and yes, unfortunately all maps needs to go into the same directory, so name them wisely!).
I think the RMI server is also included in "Integration Servers" but license-wise I am not sure if you are able to use them.
Then you just use the WTX Transformation Action to call your maps (after uploading them in "hubadmin/maps".
There is a "specialized" out-card you can use to split and set different messagetypes/receiver/sender on the BDO.

As for User Exit for WTX it is an option, but for "straight" transformations I would go for the WTX Transformation action supplied in WPG 6.2.
Also, Trading Manager is only needed if you want some more EDI functionality like control messages, EDI validation, reports, etc.
These things can of course be built in WTX "native" as well useing the WTX action.
