Hi friends,

Can anybody help me to generate a ranadom string of length 12 characters in esql. Probably uuid is the option. But 12 characters length is mandatory. Can anybody help me regarding this?

afaik you can not generate random strings in eSQL as in java or C

May be you can use current time stamp trimmed to 12
DDMMYYHHMMSS

You can use UUIDASBLOB or UUIDASCHAR and then decide which 12 character segment counts as "the most random" for your purposes.

beaware while using the timestamp... within a node it will give you the same value no matter how many times you call it...
