Dear All,

Is there a way to get the no. of instances of a message flow from command prompt apart from the ipprocs count. Sometimes toolkit is not reliable.

Platform: AIX and WMB 6 and WMB 6.1

Thanks,
kspranava.

This was added to mqsilist in V7.

In V6.1 you need to write a CMP API app to do the same.

Everyone just loves 7.0 but how many sites are going to rush in and implement it in production until at least 7.0.1. Major upgrade testing takes time you know.

There is also the matter of some support packs not supporting V7 yes. The zip node one is an example. One of my customers uses it in their common error handler to zip up the original message plus the full exceptionlist and puts it into an email. If the support pack won't run on V7 then ... Well, you know the rest.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

People do not prefer their production sites to be the testing mice... or shall i say, people do not want the world to follow them.. they wanna be the crowd and not leaders....

Not always true - some sites like being leaders. These "early adopters" do essential testing for the rest of us! It does depend a lot on the attitude of the management, and the size of the site.

Unfortunately companies like mine doesn't spend for testing the product rather they spend it to test their applications. It is quiet natural to understand that companies spend a lot to acquire licences and expect them to work & be stable. I totally agree with Vitor, only a few want to be leaders and I always salute them.

Obviously, it is not the case of crowd and leaders... from my experience, it doesnt pay always to be a leader... circumstances dictate it... there r places where the top management wants to move out of MB and in such case u can't put forward the idea of moving to a new version and test it...

Thanks,
kspranava.
