Hi Folks,

We are in the phase of laying architecture for our client to use WMB as ESB and for File transfers. Currently as per the information I have, we could have Files size up to Giga bytes and there could be 1000s of file transfer in a day.

We have number of tools like Filenet, Captiva, Business Objects and WPS in our environment. All these tools will use WMB as a common File Transfer tool to push files on network to external systems using File transfer Nodes with SFTP. We are planning to use Active/Active Broker Server setup.

WMB version would be v7.0. Experts please give me your suggestions. Is WMB the right Tool to do it. Can WMB handle such large transfers?

Thanks,
Amitha

There are all sorts of issues to consider when handling such large messages. Some have been discussed here many times before.
Have you read the WMQ Documentation and understood its limitations? That would be a good place to start.

If you are going to have thousands of 1Gb messages moving around your system, I hope the people writing the cheques are prepared to write big ones. Just think of the bandwidth you are going to need especially if the system spans contries or continents?

Tell what you have learned and your ideas. This way we can better help you to learn unless, you are prepared to employ some the the Expensively priced Consultants who frequent this forum.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

Perhaps WMQFTE is a better choice. Maybe not.

It could certainly add value on the external customer/partner facing side.

I did bring this up and also Partner gateway to my architect but the client is in no mood to invest in any enterprise tools , as the project has gone beyond budget with so many enterprise tools.

Does File nodes make use of WMQ to transfer files?

We expect only few files to be in gigs. Luckily all our partners are in the same state.
