Hi i have special character (like pound symbol) is there in my xml tag. I want to store the content of that xml in database. When i try to store it was all the things except that pound symbol. it goes like a box.

Please help me how to store these symbols in database.

Now is it stored as a box, or does it just look like a box when you view it / select it?

You should review some of the discussions in here regarding code pages. I would imagine that the code page of the XML message uses a different value for a pound symbol than the code page the database is set to use. Some conversion may be necessary.

(One of the reasons ISO defined the ISO4217 codes described here - much easier to move from place to place!)

Code pages & code page conversions are a complex topic which have been much discussed recently with very few straightforward solutions.

You need to do some research of your own into code pages and Unicode. Wikipedia has some excellent articles.
