Hi,
We had recently migrated one of our servers. Details as below,
old : SunOS wcdevtst 5.7 Generic_106541-46 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-Enterprise
new: SunOS wcdevtst 5.8 Generic_Virtual sun4v sparc SUNW,T5240
Our current Mq version is 5.3 CSD07
We are not able to start any of our queue managers , not even create a new queue manager. We are getting the following error while creating a new qmgr
AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (893) has occurred.
One of the FDC files shows the following

Have you checked that the new OS will run the out-of-support version of WMQ you're using?
You have 2 options:
- check and see if there was a kernel setting in the old server that isn't in the new one
- upgrade to a supported version of WMQ (which presumably runs on this OS, I've not actually checked) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Remove all the IPC resources (shared memory, semaphores, message queues) for userid mqm and try starting a queue manager again. _________________ Glenn |

Was CSD07 done of the dud CSDs? It might be better to go straight to CSD14. _________________ Glenn |

IIRC it was CSD08 & CSD09 that were declared not up to scratch.
But it's still better to go up to CSD14. Or better still v6.
There's another thread in here about a WMQv5.3.7 that was migrated that didn't work. You might want to look it up. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
