Does anyone use software to allow Bar file deployment to the Broker?
We are looking at using Aldon LM(e) which includes an eclipse plug-in for Broker Toolkit. This allows the app team to check-out all projects of a message flow and then move the .BAR file to the broker machine with the aldon client running a "post script" which will deply the bar file the the correct execution group.
Does anyone have any experience with Broker lifecycle software?
If so how is it working out for your company and if you don't use it, do you manually promote bar files for the app team? |

Where I've automated broker deployments, it's been done by tagging source items, extracting them from source control (ClearCase, PVCS, etc), building the bar from that with ant and deploying it rather than controlling the bar file as your method seems to do (I'm not familiar with the tool you mention so I'm guessing what it's doing).
Another, slightly more manual solution I've tried was to build a bar file & have a script that deploys it when run by whoever owns the environment.
My personal views, other methods are undoubtably possible and may be better. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
