We have MQ Client 6.0.2.5 currently installed on Solaris & we need to upgrade to MQ Client 6.0.2.6
I downloaded the MQ Client 6.0.2.6 (mqc6_6.0.2.6_solaris-sparc.tar) from IBM's website.
In order to upgrade, do we need to uninstall MQ Client 6.0.2.5 or it will be overwritten automatically, while installing MQ Client 6.0.2.6
Thanks,

I think you have to uninstall the existing version of MQ client and reinstall MQ v6.0.2.6.
Or
You can download Fixpack 6.0.2.6 from the below link
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037
and upgrade to v6.0.2.6 without uninstalling v6.0.2.5 |

I just have MQ Client 6.0.2.5 installed.
Will upgrading using FixPack 6.0.2.6 work? Don't you need to have MQ Server installed before you can use FixPacks? Just asking...
Thanks. |

Yes. The server fixpack will also work for client. There is no seperate fixpack for client. |

Same as installing any other software on Solaris. Ask your box admin. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

All FixPacks come with a readme file that describes the installation and other considerations in great detail. _________________ Glenn |
