Hi,
I have a problem runnig a perl scipt cleanmqlogs.PL . I installed Perl set all the variables, and then run the script from it's dir. by: cleanmqlogs.PL -p DA ..and DA is the name of QueueManager. The command line says something like : cannot fint the name DA in registry , and it reports line 282 of the perl script. ...I look into the system registry and found that the variable DA exists here, and it's path corresponds to the path in the perl script.

Does anyone have any idea what could help?

I would be very grateful

James K.

Where did you get the script?

What platform are you running it on?

What is the full exact error you are getting?

Which perl did you install? What, if any, dependant modules does the cleanmqlogs.PL script use? What did you do to install those?

The script is from http://www.shelden-associates.com/download/, the cleanmqlogs.tar.gz compressed file.
The OS is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard Edition, SP2,

my command in CL is :

C:\Perl\cleanmqlogs>cleanmqlogs.PL -p DA
$* is no longer supported at C:\Perl\cleanmqlogs\cleanmqlogs.PL lne 282.
cleanmqlogs.PL: no queue manager DA found in registry

I installed ActivePerl-5.10.1.1006-MSWin32-x86-291086.msi.

Below is part of help file content.. and i need to use the option -u , so i suppose i don¨t need to dowload gzip, as written below. But to be sure, I dowloaded it too.
This is the part of help file content :

Note:The -n, -l, and -t options have been removed in favor of parsing the Windows Registry for this information.
-z
Gzip unnessesary log files. This is the default. If gzip is not in your path, you may need to either add its directory to your path, or edit the script's $gzip variable to specify its fully-qualified pathname. A copy of gzip for Windows can be found at http://www.shelden-associates.com/download/gzip.exe.
-u
Unlink (delete) unnessessary log files.
-p
Print the names of unnessessary log files. No cleanup will take place.
QueueManager
The name of the queue manager or managers whose recovery logs you want to clean up.
