I followed the procedure in the documentation, but faced an issue.

I suspended the PR QM from cluster and checked that it was suspended for other QMs.
I removed cluster def for the CLUSRCVR channel by making CLUSTER(' ').

I waited for fair amount of time.
When I do clusqmgr(*) from FR, I can still see the PR. Frankly, I don't remember if I could see PR when I do clusqmgr(*) from PR. I think I didn't see them.

Seems Refresh cluster on PR did not work as data comes from FR.

I stopped and removed CLUS channels of PR but of no use.

How I resolved:
I recreated cluster channels for PR made it functional. Again I removed it from cluster using CLUSTER(' ') on CLUSRCVR channel at night.
At morning I found that I don't find PR in FR's clusqmgr.

My Question:
How long should I wait? Is there a process to speed this process as I cannot wait for long duration on production?

from my experience the clsuser sender from the other qmgrs must be inactive so they get removed. if they are in retry or stopped they will not get removed. so stop channels to the qm you want to remove with STATUS(INACTIVE) and they should be gone in about 20 minutes.

at least i saw this behaviour on z/OS........

Depending on the size of the cluster, it can take an hour or more for the channel to stop. Once the cluster attribute has been removed from the CLUSRCVR, issuing a STOP CHANNEL(<NAME>) MODE(QUIESCE) will cause the channel to stop gracefully. The one golden rule I have regarding clusters is give it time. All too often that time is not factored in and people issue, reissue, and repeat, commands, which of itself can cause issues.
