We have a websphere 5.1 application providing a number of websphere applications via HTTP and MQ. We are having problems with our MQ communication

I am getting the following errors
Code:
javax.jms.JMSException: JMSException occurred : Failed to create queue connection

With the following supplementary info:==>
Code:
 Now customized dump is running...  = Tue Oct 13 09:50:24 BST 2009
Maximum number of connections has been reached, and the connection request has been waiting longer than = ConnectionWaitTime.  Two possible solutions  : increase the max number of connections, or increase the = ConnectionWaitTime. =
   Maximum Connections           =  = 10
   Current number of connections =  = 10
   Connection Wait Timout        =  = 180000
If the current number of connections is not greater than or equal to max connections,  = there has been a WebSphere internal error. =
Dumping the list of J2EEComponents and their corresponding handle count =
Component Prod LocationAgent Drop 17#la-int09comm.jar#LocationAgentHelper is holding 9 number of connection(s)
Component Prod LocationAgent Drop 17#la--int09comm.war#DispatchServlet is holding 0 number of connection(s)
Component GEO_PRD_RLU_DROP15#GeoEJB.jar#MDBBean is holding 0 number of connection(s)
 =
This =  =
Object type = com.ibm.ejs.j2c.ConnectionManager
com.ibm.ejs.j2c.ConnectionManager@91d65fe

+Data for directive [MaxConnectionsReached] obtained. =
==> Dump complete for com.ibm.ejs.j2c.DiagnosticModuleForJ2C  = Tue Oct 13 09:50:24 BST 2009

The only way to recover is to bounce the applications.

Should I increase the maximum number of MQ connections allowed, it is currently set at 10. Is there any danger in increasing this?

Thanks,
J

10 is a very low number.
Think MDB needs number of instances + 1 connections and then you still need to cater for the outgoing stuff....

Also, v5.1 is a very low number.

Please upgrade.
