We have MQ V7 on Production mainframe using SSL with RACF
2 similar questions
1.for Disaster Recovery purposes we bring up our Zos Production on another physical machine, we are wondering if the certificats will still be valid ?
2.I tested on my client Windows machine, I copy everything and bring up MO71 or websphere Client , and I had SSL errors, my certificat was no good, my concern is the opposite, if I changed my mainframe would I have to re-generated all my certificats ??

afaik the certificate is not hardware - dependent. If the qmgr name is the same, and your racf database too (or at least all the configuration) then the certificates should work. We swtch hardware from time to time and do not have any trouble with the certificates. But not 100% sure if there is a method to define certificates hardware - dependent.
Maybe your test procedure is wrong. Did you try to connect to the "original" z/OS with your windows test setup? If that failes too it is the setup.
Maybe it would help if you post the errors you get (on windows and on z/OS). _________________ Regards, Butcher |
