Hi,
Is there any way to monitor and generate an alert when a new FDC file is generated , what is the reason it was generated and receive notification about it? |

can be done.. but using some scripts if on unix platform.
check the folder file size and initialise it in a vaiable with that... any increase in the folder file size ...give an alert.. and internally it would say that some file (i.e. FDC) is added/generated some how inthat folder file.
To know the reason why the FDC is generated.. you got to either pick some fields and its values manually or again use some script to filter that and paste those values in the alert page(if required). _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |

A script or monitoring solution could monitor the directory for a new file in the same way they could monitor any new file. Likewise such a solution could send a notification.
Not sure how you'd automate the reason it was generated. The files are intended for use by IBM Support and administrators performing problem solving. By their nature they're generated when something unexpected (and hence hard to automate) happens. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
